Biography
Technical Background
I started exploring computers back in 1977 with one of the first Apple personal computers, the Apple ][. Since then, I’ve dabbled with Commodore, Amiga, and Mac computers, becoming a serious programmer with the Windows PC.
With an electrical engineering background, I brought skills to the table that quickly matured my abilities as a software engineer.
Later, a seven-year hiatus from Windows was spent developing application-level software for a VxWorks operating system on an Unix platform — for unmanned interplanetary spacecraft.
Returning to Earth, er, Windows development, I found the pull of the Internet to strong to resist. After leaving the corporate environment, I worked part-time on my own website, The Wildlife Porch, as well as doing some light volunteering work.
Continuing my part-time work, I now also work freelance software gigs.
